Anyone who loves makeup knows, it’s all about the presentation. If you’re like me… then the more exotic, unusual or hard to find, the better. Although Guerlain has been around for ages, I’ve never quite cared about the brand… as it appeared to be marketed to the older set.
There’s a chance that my recent notice of Guerlain is proof that I am getting a little long in the tooth.
No matter… for what they’ve done of late is nothing short of impressive:
This kajal (your average 1.99 version from any Eastern shop) has been re-imagined as this work of art.
It’s one of those pretty little things that you’d be excited to pull from your purse at any given moment. Not that you need to carry it with you after applying it; the kajal goes on and stays put. It smudges a bit, but that’s to be expected. And honestly, it just adds to the allure. The best part about this little gem is that the stick is retractable!
Excuse the fingertips and the bronze on the tip. I’ve used mine a few times. You can’t retract the cheapie version… and as I understand it, this is not pure kajal. That is, it’s a mineral based kohl so it’ll also keep longer and not get so messy after a few hundred (thousand) uses.
More pretty things…
This fabulous lipstick is showing up pink in the picture. It’s not. It’s actually burnt orange with a pinkish hue.
Looks great on medium to dark skin. And the packaging doesn’t hurt either. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Again, something you’d be just delighted to grab out of the old makeup bag and apply.
A recent study suggested that the old truth about the economy and lipstick may be a thing of the past. It’s said that when the economy goes down… lipstick sales go up. But this year, lipstick was replaced by nail polish. Pish posh, I say! Clearly our ladies weren’t scoping out the Guerlain counter, otherwise they’d surely plunk down the $$$ for a tube of jewel-toned happiness.
Eh… moving on to an oldie but goodie:
Meteorites powder was hailed as the first real breakthrough in evening out skin tone through colored minerals. Until now, I’ve never tried it. To my utter and complete surprise, it works. Very well.
I swirled a bit over a client recently, and was impressed that the product actually does what it says. Perfect for any skin color or type… it can be used directly on skin or over foundation. Like my other recently acquired Guerlain treasures, it’s a keeper.
