Dare to Wear

Keeping up with the 10 billion product launches and repromotes that MAC does every 10 seconds would drive anyone NUTS. So, I try to only pay attention to the launches that would actually make a difference to my collection, and leave the rest where it sits.

Dare to Wear got my attention because of the vivid mattes in the eyeshadow collection. You have to look no further than my drooling reaction to Sugarpill to know that mattes that actually look ‘on the body’ the way they do in the pot are pretty hard to come by. MAC is not exempt from criticism. Over the years, the formulas have continued to degrade… leaving most former employees and fans a little … meh.

But Dare to Wear might help redeem the brand… here are my picks:

From the left: Lime, Going Bananas, Sassy Grass, Zingy, and Free to Be
The colors are actually a lot more vivid in person… I blame the flash for eating most of it. Going Bananas does NOT really translate yellow on Brown skin. Plus it’s a frost, which is a shame. It would be nice to come up with a stronger version of Chrome Yellow. Going Bananas is actually a repromote. I think the rest are new, at least to me.
MAC fans will likely snap this line up. It’s the most vivid in the last year or so. The formulas are more creamy than chalky, making them easy to blend alone, or together. The best part of this collection is… the true beauty and potential are as limitless as your own imagination.
