Juicing has pretty much become a way of life in my house. We’ve experimented with all manner of fruits and vegetables, roots and grasses. Sometimes we hit, and sometimes we ‘really’ miss (I’ll not be juicing Anise for a while). But after lots and lots of trial and error, we have a few favorites that keep making their way to the top of the menu.
One Friends & Family Favorite is the drink we call ‘Apple Jacked.’ It’s really easy to slap together. This recipe is for 2 (two) 18-ounce bottles.
6 Granny Smith Apples
1 4-inch piece of Ginger Root (you can use less if you want it less spicy)
That’s it! I toss those in the juicer for a quick drink that’s a little sweet, a little tart, with a lot of ‘kick.’
If you want it to come out sweeter, you can swap out Granny Smith Apples for Fuji Apples. I used Fuji Apples once, and found the drink too sweet for my tastes, so I prefer Granny Smith. But like all juicing, this is to taste… so feel free to adjust for your individual preference.
