Every year, I pack up my kit and go about the business of taking care of clients for the Emmys. Some of my more famous counterparts get to be ‘celebrity’ makeup artists du jour… but my clients are more of the ‘behind the scenes’ types. You won’t always see them on the carpet, but some of them make decisions for quite a few of folks that you do.
One of my most reliable clients is a ‘behind the scenes’ type, at Fox Television.
We were going for ‘polish’ with the makeup tonight, with a pop of color on the lips. To offset her nude/taupe dress, we kept the palette to peach, shimmer apricots, and an orange-based red.
I thought she looked lovely. She thought so too. 🙂 We’ve been working together for a few years now, and every year we try something different. This is the first time she kind of let me have my way. Normally we map out what we’re doing ahead of time, but this time it was pretty freestyle.
She did tell me that she wanted a strong lip though (I was going to go for a peach). And you know the rule… the client is always right. Looking at the result, I’d say she chose well.
