FOTD: This is 40

So, I was all set to write this long winded dissertation on what I’ve learned as I close out the 3rd decade of my life (complete with some awesome yoga pose that took me forever to master), and then decided to K.I.S.S. Because really, in the scheme of things, who cares? 😀

I did, however, put on a little makeup to celebrate my big birthday.

Happy Birthday! You are beautiful. I love the Guerlain primer. Amazing!

  2. Thank you Deana! The Guerlain Primer is pretty awesome. Definitely going to get plenty of use out of it. 🙂

  3. Happy birthday! You look great. I remember my 40th as I decided to spoil myself and spent all day at the spa finishing with a wonderful makeover. Enjoy your special birthday.

  4. Thank you Niki! Hubby is making it a birthday MONTH so I’m being spoiled all to be damned. 🙂 I feel absolutely Awesome. 40 is pretty freakin’ fabulous. 😀

Happy birthday! 40 is the new black!

Happy birthday! Your skin looks amazing! I need to treat myself to that peel for Christmas.

I’d like to venture into higher end cosmetics but don’t know where to start. Do you have any suggestions? For some reason, I want the TF She Wolf eyeshadow palette.

    Again, happy birthday!

  7. Thank you! That peel has changed everything. I haven’t peeled for about 2 months, and I haven’t had a single major skin issue. I just got the Tom Ford She Wolf palette. It’s gorgeous! It’s limited edition, so I’d definitely recommend getting it soon. My favorite high end eyeshadow quads come from Chanel, and nothing tops a Rouge d’ Armani Lipstick. I love the Givenchy Teint Couture Foundation, and I’m a huge fan of Chanel Blushes (they are subtle and really hard to get wrong). But not everything high end performs better. Still nothing beats the 24/7 Eye Pencil from Urban Decay! 🙂

Thanks for your quick response. I’ve pretty much bought all the Nars products that I want especially the blushes. Thanks to Specktra, I’ve hopped on the Mac train (but just a little bit). I recently purchased the Dior Amber Diamond, which I really like.

I’ve only been into makeup for a few months and have mastered everything except eyeshadow application. MUAs always comment that I have a lot of lid space but I think that’s what throws me off. I just hope that I ain’t running around looking like a darker version of Tammy Faye Baker. Lol. That’s why I haven’t bought the She Wolf palette. I’d hate to invest that kind of money and not use the palette.

      Thanks for your feedback!

  8. You’re so welcome. Specktra is bad for my wallet! LOL I love the beauties of Specktra. They’re informed and generally awesome. There is a lighter version of the Tom Ford trio. I passed on it… for now. I prefer She Wolf. But the pink version is lovely as well.

    Happy belated! You look great!

  10. I love the way your Hubby thinks! Enjoy all the spoils.

  11. I love it too NIki! Hey, you only turn 40 once! 😀
