J’Adore Dior: IT Lash & Fluid Stick (Intrigue)

Two new additions from Dior got my attention recently. I’m an admitted mascara snob, so I wanted to see what the new ‘It Lash’ was all about. So I gave that, and the Dior Fluid Stick (Intrigue) a test drive:

Turns out, this new mascara is pretty good, in spite of that horrid plastic wand. I’m not a fan of those wands… I find them bendy and difficult to steady when applying mascara. But the formula on this mascara is so good, that I forgive the wand. It’s thin, and needs to be built. I prefer 3-5 coats because once you get it on there, your lashes just SING. You should note that this formula lengthens and separates, but doesn’t really volumize. Still, it looks wonderful. Every time I wear it, I’ve been complimented on it and asked about it.

I honestly thought this was going to be a lot like the YSL Glossy Stains. But it’s more opaque, and thicker (the YSL version is almost watery). It reminds me a lot of the lip cremes from Stila and Beaute. It’s got a lot more shine than those, more like a gloss, but it definitely has the opaqueness of a lip creme or even a lipstick.

Although this looks more like a berry under artificial light (which where I photographed my face), it’s very purple in natural light (as in the swatch). So use the swatch as your reference.

ON THE REST OF MY FACE:

DiorSkin Nude Foundation (050)

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift (Cara)

Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick (lashline)

thanks for reviewing the mascara. I had it on my radar, but those wands poke my eyes somehow. I’m a fan of volume anyway.

  2. I’m not a fan of that wand either Linda. I don’t know why they make them.. they’re so pliant and just not very precise. But I do love the formula. But if you’re a bigger fan of volume, this is definitely a pass.
