I know it’s been forever and a day since my last post. Those of you who tune into Instagram from time to time know what’s been going on. Between photoshoots, yoga classes and stealing a few hours to make sure the magazine is performing to par… it’s been a bit much.
I took some time to make up one my favorite faces. Ninah came by and wanted to know if I could match her Halloween outfit (burlesque dancer with tons of rhinestones) with a white/silver/sparkle eye and wine lips. So this is what we did:
I custom blended her foundation and concealer with the Maquiallage Pro Foundation Palette. I used Hourglass Mineral Veil to emulsify the blend (and make sure that it didn’t go anywhere as the night wore on.
For eyes, I laid down a layer of Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in Silver. Then I mixed Hourglass Mineral Veil with MAC Reflects Gold and patted it on top. That gave the shimmer a wet sparkle, with hints of both silver and gold. When she blinked, it looked like she had rhinestones on her lids. I used a medium brown shadow from Make Up For Ever for her crease, and lined her eyes first with Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in black, then softened it with MAC Carbon. I pulled the lashline up into the outer crease for a good measure, then added a bit of shimmer ‘just’ under the lashline, to enhance the smoky effect.
I double layered her lashes… first with a wispy pair from Monda Studio ($1.98! Can’t beat it!), then a pair of spiked lashes from Ardell, with rhinestone decorations.
For her lips, I mixed Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in Black Dahlia, and OCC Liptar in Vintage. I lined them in some random burgundy colored lip pencil that I found at Cinema Secrets. Her lips survived food, drinks and smooches all night long.
