Did you know that too much of that stuff causes massive amounts of cystic acne? Yeah, neither did I. So this girl, who fought ALL HER LIFE for clear skin… and finally got it… effed it up with too much B-Complex!
It all started with a juice cleanse. I was too lazy to do it myself, so I bought a cleanse from the local Pressed Juicery. While I’m waiting for them to put everything together, I see these little bottles of ‘drops’ off to the side. Antioxidant, Immunity, Weight Control… and B-COMPLEX. I make a beeline for the B-Complex because, you know, healthy! I immediately start popping a drop under my tongue first thing in the morning. The taste reminds me of childhood… bee pollen… orange juice… my Mom… just good stuff. Then I start taking it in the morning and the evening. Love the taste. Love the feeling.
I’m running around looking more and more like Quasimodo and trying to figure out who I harmed in a past life, who decided to put a hex on me in this one. SMH. I had to go over every single thing that I’d done in the past week (I was also testing a new skin care line) and start eliminating things one by one. I went back to extremely simple skin care, and STILL the pimples kept showing up. So I consulted the Google Machine:
Nearly everyone said NO. However, overdoing it on certain b-vitamins can jack up the skin of the acne prone.
That would be me.
So I IMMEDIATELY stopped taking the drops. My skin started clearing up within 48 hours. I went BACK to trying out the new skin care (releasing in December), with fantastic results. I went from 14 cystic pimples (yes, I counted those horrible monsters), to 1 blemish/discoloration at my temple. In about a week, that will be cleared up too. These things never came to a head; they just sat there red and angry and mocking all of my hard work. It was awful.
I’m so sad about the B-Complex because I REALLY liked taking them.
Proof positive that you can actually have too much of a good thing.
