TCA Peel: Day 2

The skin broke and the peel has begun! My face decided to start shedding at the dumbest fotd the curetime; I was talking to a colleague at my yoga studio and she brushed at her face to indicate that I had something on it. I’d forgotten about the fact that I would start peeling so I glanced in the mirror to see what she was talking about. Sure enough, all kinds of skin was flaking around my mouth. SMH. I can’t really mess with it so I dusted off the really obvious bits and made my way home.

This morning it’s even more prominent, but I’ve managed to soften the effect by adjusting my skin care routine. So I’ve abandoned my normal Habibi Oatmeal & Peppermint (for oily skin) in favor of 7 drops of Seven Veils  which is MUCH better for this suddenly dry skin of mine. I was laughing about it with my sister, like “This must be what dry skin types feel like!” My sympathies to you dry folks, because I really can’t fathom having skin this thirsty all the time. It is just DRINKING up the moisture. But the Seven Veils Serum is keeping my skin supple and still allowing the peel to happen without me looking completely crazy.

I can’t wear full on makeup (it’ll just flake off a and look a mess), so right now I’m opting for Natura Bisse The Cure Sheer Cream as a tinted moisturizer, and dusting By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder over it to set. The combination helps my skin attract moisture and will keep the flakes to a minimum. I put more Natasha Denona (Satin Skin and Cool Plum… which is totally DARK BROWN) on the eyes and Guerlain African Rhythm on the cheeks. Lips are Dose of Colors in Cork, with Hot Makeup Glistening Gloss in Bright Destiny on top.

I’ll keep you posted as I keep peeling. Ciao for now!
